Through the Council of Great Lakes Governors (CGLG), this office has represented member state Pennsylvania since 2002.  

With a population of over 12 million, Pennsylvania is home to a thriving and diverse business community. Life sciences, high technology, advanced manufacturing, and business services are the top industries found in the commonwealth.

Backed by a $2.8 billion Economic Stimulus Plan, Pennsylvania is taking unprecedented steps to create jobs, retain talent, grow the economy, and position the commonwealth for success. Programs provide the capital necessary for growth and innovation for companies ranging from early stage to mature and global.

Since 2002 our office has assisted Pennsylvania companies succeed Down Under.

New York Economic Development


With a population of just under 20 million and GDP of $1.1 billion, New York is the 3rd largest economy in the US.  The New York Empire State Development has participated in the Australia/New Zealand Trade office of the Council of Great Lakes Governors since 2010.

New York has long been recognized as a global financial center, but it also plays host to global headquarters of companies in services; media; entertainment and telecommunications; manufacturing; and trade.

Major industries include: published goods, apparel, chemicals, food products, furniture, machinery, paper products and textiles.
