Pennsylvania Gross State Product (GSP) is US$468bn. In world GDP rankings this would place them 17th, with a larger economy than countries such as Sweden, Belgium, Switzerland and Saudi Arabia.
Pennsylvania is the second largest foreign direct investment location in the U.S.  and offers a springboard to the world's largest financial centre, New York City, and the US regulatory centre, Washington DC, at a fraction of the cost of those cities.

Six out of ten major US market areas lie within an 800km radius of Pennsylvania’s capital Harrisburg.

Within this radius lies access to vital markets that encompass 40% of the US population & 60% of Canada’s population. The state also accounts  for 45% of US manufacturers & 41% of US domestic trade & service industries.

Governor Ed Rendell’s $2.8 billion economic stimulus package, the most comprehensive in the US, and his ongoing commitment to encourage and support economic development, particularly in areas of new technology and higher value add operations are now clearly showing results. This has allowed the Governor’s Action Team to create a powerful toolbox of grants, loans and tax credits which have been successfully leveraged to attract over $8.1 billion in private sector investments.
